Electronic production wunderkind Jeff Basta isn't even legally old enough to buy spray paint, but by listening to his new single, you'd think he was a seasoned vet.
Premiered exclusively by EARMILK, "Living By The Light" is a glittering future bass tune bursting at the seams with emotion. Featuring fellow young gun Miya Segal, who just finished her freshman year of high school, the track makes use of warm pads and twinkly stabs to create bubbly soundscapes, where Segal's angelic vocal effort shines through. "Living By The Light" is the lead single from Basta's forthcoming debut full-length album Akero, which he produced using his mother as inspiration. Here is what he had to say:
"Living By The Light" is the first single off of my upcoming debut album based on my mother’s journey from Korea. I wrote this song in hopes to capture innocent childhood bliss. The words and sounds are all meant to paint a picture of laughter, endless fields, and rolling hills under the sun, while referencing specifics both from my own youth and the stories she has told me from Korea."
