It feels like ages ago that we were stalking josh pan on SoundCloud, tracing the collectives he was in to one another and reading threads on Reddit. And that was nearly three years ago – since, the Taiwan-born and Los Angeles-based artist has come out of the shadows put a face to his name, released music on OWSLA and played festivals.

Today, josh pan has partnered up with Next Wave Records – a label attached to the eponymous management company – and the ever prominent Ultra Records on his latest single. A collaboration with Salt Lake City-based production duo X&G, "wait for me" is a symbol of the consistency in josh pan's music that has made him so popular. He is consistent in providing a new style, new sound, with nearly every track he makes. "wait for me" is no different. Joining the likes of Steve Angello and Ratatat, he's brought rock and roll into the electronic world. Fitting for his darker electronic sensibilities, modern melancholy vocals top off a mixture of electronic production and live guitars and percussion that move amongst distortion. Signaling influence from 1990's grunge and 7o's classic rock, "wait for me" is not a shock to the system, but a welcomed new venture.
