Yakul is a 3 piece neo-soul/ jazz band coming straight out of Brighton with something that will grip your souls to the core. Their latest record “Realigned” is a soul stunning single that brings the band's live performing vibes on wax. The keys are soulfully drenched, the drums are rollicking and groovy from the kick to the snare and everything in between, and the vocals complete the cipher with a passionate, buttery style. The record which deals with coming to terms with moving sets the band apart as they deal with the situation head-on without being overly sad about it. “Realigned” is definitely a solid engulfing record this is and will surely get more than a handful of spins when you hit the play button.
It's going to be a busy summer for Yakul, with multiple concerts and festivals on the horizon including Big Love Festival, Love Supreme (TBA), El Dorado (TBA), multiple Alternative Escapes and their highly anticipated Musiq Soulchild Songbook session at the highly prestigious London Jazz Cafe. Yakul will be celebrating the single release with a launch party at Patterns in Brighton on the 9th May, supported by J-Felix (Tru Thoughts) and Chloe Bodur, as well as a live video to be released later along with the release.
