Mella Dee's Warehouse Music imprint is one you'll know not just from its loud, gawdy artwork, but also from the succession of notable releases and winning DJ Mag's coveted Best Breakthrough Label last year in the 2017 Best Of British Awards. Mella Dee, real name Ryan Aitchison, released his Techno Disco Tool EP via Warehouse Music which soon became a dance floor staple and also record gold dust with the vinyls, despite a repress, fetching up to £90 on Discogs. Mella Dee's also stacked up releases on Waze & Odyssey's Street Tracks and 17 Steps, but 'Donny's Groove' is the 5th delivery incoming from Warehouse Music.
Opener 'Donny's Groove' is a record encompassing Mella Dee's typical funky disco house fusion. A feel good vocal layered over a catchy loop and drums to rile the dancefloor ensure that this is a track you'll be dying to hear in the club. 'DG Redux' is a rework of the opener, providing a hefty bassline, claps and a fast paced number for building atmosphere and working the crowd. 'The Sound' closes the EP, again bringing in the "techno disco vibes" hard, heavy and happy in a way only Mella Dee knows how.
Donny's Groove EP is out via Warehouse Music on 11th May 2018 and vinyl is available to pre-order from Lobster Records.
