Jazz singer-songwriter Ori Dagan is breaking the mold with his recent jazz venture. The Jazz musician just released the video from his Nat King Cole tribute project titled 'Nathaniel: A Tribute To Nat King Cole'.
The project is set to be the first ever jazz visual album and the first visual is the nostalgic filled record "Complexion". Tapping into the spirit of his jazz predecessors, Ori displays his deep knowledge of the genre with his smooth, malleable vocal style but more important his message regarding race in America. As a protest song against prejudice, "Complexion" is inspired by the resilient spirit of Nat King Cole and on the other hand, the engulfing backdrop made up of sparkling piano riffs, rousing horns and warm guitar plucks also help enhance the subject at hand giving it that vintage feel from start to finish.
The Carlos Coronado directed visuals are pretty simple as they capture the artist in a surreal, natural backdrop. Nothing fancy but as simple as possible. "Complexion" is one of 12 Music Videos from Ori Dagan's 'Nathaniel: A Tribute To Nat King Cole'. The visual album pays tribute to Nat King Cole, including 5 originals inspired by Cole's life, music, and legacy. Check here for more info. You can get the audio on iTunes and Spotify .
