For U.K. based group Blossoms, the last few years have seen the rise through the ranks to become one of the British Isles hottest exports. With slots supporting The Stone Roses at Wembley, to playing their own sold out headline show in their city of Manchester, the Stockport born band have seen their sound travel all across the globe, playing shows in North America in front of packed audiences. With their new album due for release in April, Blossoms have set up their very own label, in the hopes of pushing emerging talent forward into the spot light.
Tom Ogden from Blossoms, explained what the label means to the group; "We’ve always had real admiration for the likes of legendary independent record labels Factory, Creation, Rough Trade, Heavenly and, more recently, Skeleton Key records. We want to bring something more back to our hometown and set up a proper record company here in Stockport", and there was born Very Clever Records.
The first release from Very Clever, is the electrifying debut four track EP from fellow Stopfordians Fuzzy Sun. The Stockport based five piece are fresh off the announcement that they'll support Blossoms on their UK tour, and with an exciting summer schedule planned, they've put out their first project Want Love. Fusing pop-rock with psychedelic elements, Fuzzy Sun whip through the four tracks with seductive harmonies and funky bass lines prominent through out. Want Love also hits all the right notes vocally, as Daisy & Kyle shine through-out the project, with catchy hooks and choruses to boot. Fuzzy Sun's debut is not only mesmerising, but it keeps you hooked from start to finish, a strong bow into the music world from a group destined for success.
