Singer/songwriter Jason Hamlin crafts a rousing, socially conscious record in the form of his new single titled "Dreaming a Place". The soulfully gripping record shows Jason in his element as he delivers an intense performance against the somewhat somber backdrop. His commanding vocal style is melodic and carefully crafted as well and also avoids the pitfalls of the subject at hand being lost in the shuffle.
Hamlin said he came up with the song during the Occupy Wall St movement and it was a direct response to the feedback the Occupy participants were getting from the media and politicians. He eventually revisited the song when the DREAM Act bill was brought up in the Senate but failed to pass.
