Producer Willem Ardui and rapper Jay Walker blend and cross genres as much as possible, and although this would normally make for an incoherent sound, the result for Belgium-based project blackwave is a full and attention-grabbing R&B-type sound.
With a live band of jazz musicians, the duo have released an aesthetically brilliant video to complement their latest single "Elusive," which features a smooth vocal from David Ngyah. While hip hop and folk influence the band sonically, it seems they are also influenced cinematically by nature. The duo combine lush visuals of beaches and flowers with dancers and musicians. The duo plan to release an album sometime in 2018.
