To celebrate a birthday he thought he'd never see, Rusko dropped his first new track since being declared cancer free last October. As most longtime fans know, Rusko has two sides – a softer sentimental side he shows in past hits like "Hold On" and "Somebody to Love," and the side he flexes here. Rusko wastes no time reminding us that there's no better dispenser of wobbly basslines married to buzzing synths, playful instrumentals, and wonky ambient vocal interjections than himself. Despite his absence, Rusko hasn't lost a bit of his UK bass swagger as he expertly straddles the space between head smashing basslines and music that just makes you feel good. If this track is any indication, Rusko's feeling pretty good himself, and the track title is a message to bass aficionados worldwide, "Look Out!"
Thus far, he's announced only one show, Wobbleland in San Francisco on Feb 23rd, but expect more music and more shows to come. So join all of us here at EARMILK in wishing Rusko a very happy birthday!
