Beauty, in all of its many forms, can at once be beckoning, comforting, and even assaulting. An electro-pop act from Austin, TX with a flair for the avant-garde explores similar methods of visual trickery, disguise, and the power of costuming on their aesthetically bold debut video. Today EARMILK is proud to premiere the visual accompaniment to NÄM's "FACE." The video's startling aesthetic is in tune with the sometimes erratic sound design of the track, which has a false start, slowly builds to a shimmering pinnacle, and dissolves into a sultry retro-tinged vocal interlude. Slithery drums, a lo-fi aesthetic, and NÄM vocalist Nora Luder's soulful delivery amplify the loungey vibe.
NÄM is comprised of Nora Luders and Sam Simmons, who first forged an online friendship over music while Nora was living in Germany and Sam in Tennessee. Beats and recordings flew back and forth for long enough that the two finally got together in Texas, where their creative bond continues to flourish and evolve.
