Saphir's video for 3 A.M. enters her mind of youth trying to figure things out in this world. The 20 year old Los Angles native grew up within a musical family contributing to her musical ability which is showcased here. over the past few years she has been hard at work releasing track after track on her Soundcloud and providing two EP's. While short, they have each amassed hundreds of thousands of views and help launch her into the forefront of rap's underground.
The Foxwedding produced track starts with a simple sinister piano line but slowly turns into a fully fleshed out, dark trap, instrumental. Saphir takes this opportunity to express her emotion all over this piece. Lines like "You're looking so good but the truth is deceiving" and "Blind eyes I'm not crazy enough, pull my strings I'll boil your blood" describe some of the tragedies and temptations of a toxic relationship. The video, which is directed by Aramis Duran, presents Saphir perturbed in a forest while wielding a baseball bat and putting the bat to use at a point. Overwhelming anxiety is a theme present in much of her music and "3 A.M." continues the trend.
Next up on Saphir's release radar is a song called "Drunk Hearts And Sober Smiles". The track features production from Fish Narc and will be dropping later this month. Check out this video and stay tuned to Saphir as she continues momentum throughout 2018.
