Australian producer and multi-instrumentalist Anatole video for his song "Outgrown" featuring singer Tom Iansek is a layered blend of emotions. The alternative approach he takes makes it pretty compelling as the instrumentation takes a life of its own as the song progresses alongside Tom Iansek's smooth vocal performance. The single is the latest taste of Anatole's debut album due out early next year. It comes after the recent announcement of his signing to UK Label Mercury KX (Part of the Decca family), with the record's first single 'Like Deep Water', (which features label mate Ólafur Arnalds)
Anatole further explains the science behind the song …."I tried to translate that personality and character into close vignettes of touch and response, as if those sounds were supernatural voyeurs in the bedroom, connecting via the light cues synced to the various parts of the song. I wanted to marry the organic and synthetic into something new, while also blurring the line between sexy and unsexy; male and female; straight and queer. I think the world of the film casts an objective eye over its bodies and isn't concerned with traditionally sexy appendages, finding the smaller details in its encounters. In saying that, I think there's a lot of sexual energy that comes across in the film that carries more weight when combined with the other textural imagery, mirroring feminine and masculine alike."
