This 6-track EP from Sam Austins is a fresh take on the alternative R&B genre. Angst explores themes of depression, anxiety, and relationships. Sam uses a variety of deliveries from pitched rapping to a more bare singing voice. For the project being featureless, there is still great diversity here. There is a huge amount of passion throughout and this isn't limited to Sam's vocal performances. The production is just as inspired as he is. The beats in this EP are consistent with a traditional hip-hop flow but with a pop flair, setting the mood for Sam Austins to poor the pleasure and pain on. Each song brings out a different emotion from falling in love on "Youngin" to coping with personal problems on "Swim".
