There are times when you need a break from your 9-5 hustle, or are in need of something smooth. So what do you do? You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild, or maybe you reach for something a little more herbal. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind and recline. This is for when you need to close your eyes and drift. We are just your milkmen and we’re here to make a delivery. This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve, so lay back and chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by Alex Barthol, the newest signee on Mat Zo's label Madd Zoo Music. Not too much is known about this young cat, other than he is at the ripe age of 22 and has his roots in Alabama. He made his debut on Madd Zoo Music only a few weeks ago, but his sounds are slowly catching fire. Unlike his new label mates, Alex forefronts the softer side of electronic music, giving the new label a wider range. Take the tune "Temporary," for instance. This particular song starts off with wavering synths and a delicate woodwind to compliment. It builds as if a drop is inbound, but it plateaus off into an atmospheric swirl with nothing but soothing chimes and a simple beat. "Temporary" is one of a handful of songs off of his latest EP Duality which I urge you to coast through. You won't regret it.
Gear up with your best headphones or speakers, and drift.
