From the extreme dark depths of deep, ethereal house, and forward thinking techno comes Hydrozoa Recordings founded by Aardy just a short two years ago. Since its inception, Hydrozoa has had a whole host of standout releases from the likes of Mario Ochoa, Adapter, and Stiv Hey with remixes from the likes of Clint Stewart. Next, they are bringing in Berlin based Philip Bader to the fold for his Dark Tone EP featuring his characteristic take of late-night club culture with Brazil’s own Wehbba picking up remix duties.
From the first beat, Wehbba’s remix of “Dark Tone” lives in the dark, in the dead of night, in the warehouse or smoke-filled club. In what can only be called a mind-bending remix, Wehbba has isolated the darkest parts of the original and amplified them to new heights in a power-driven, mind-altering version that somehow doesn’t lose the groove that was so prevalent in the original.
