It's always beautiful to see (seemingly) disparate artists come together and make dope music! As the story goes, earlier this year, the Smirnoff Sound Collective invited artists Joseph Ray, of NERO fame, Detroit electronic music veteran Marc Kinchen, legendary remixer Amtrac and renowned vocalist MELI to Rancho V in Pioneertown, California for an evening of collaboration and experimentation. There, the four combined their efforts to create a joint-project titled Pretty Pretty, which yielded its debut track – "Hi Fashion" feat. MELI.
The companion video above features model and author Sarah Deanna, and was shot and directed in a film noir/ Sin City style by fashion photographer Jonathan Bookalill. The downtown Hollywood streets provided the perfect backdrop for the somber-yet-coyfully-astute house track, which clearly borrows influences from all the talented artists involved. The track certainly bodes well for the collective, and I can't wait to hear more.
