Going to sleep is going to be pretty difficult after just listening to "Bedside" once. Indie electronic producer Maxo and R&B up-and-comer Ehiorobo have teamed up on this latest offering and the result is an adorable track that is more for good morning than good night.
"Bedside" opens with a burst of energy thanks to the PC music-esque synth chords which sound like they are straight out of a video game. The electronic elements throughout the track twist and flip in a playful manner and showcase cute sound bites of ice clinking in a glass or a cell phone ringtone. Ehiorobo's flawlessly belts out the track's lyrics with smooth and soulful vocals, which are expertly layered on top of its production. The rap breakdown at the midpoint is a nice little cut through the glitch hop, as well.
If "Bedside" is any indication as to what's coming next for Maxo, his SKYRISER EP coming out next month via TREKKIE TRAX will be a game changer.
