Atlanta's R&B crooner Sammie unleashes his sensual new single "Too Long," available at all digital retailers today. With a nod to R. Kelly's hit single "You Remind Me Of Something," and produced by Bryan "K-City" Elmore, the former pre-teen sensation reminds us he is all grown up now, with the relatable struggles most adults find through love.
"Too Long" serves as the second single off his third album and first full-length independent offering, Coming of Age [EMPIRE], available everywhere September 15th. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instant download of the cinematic and vulnerable bonus title track ("COA"). With a combination of emotional ballads, infectious hooks, and featured appearances including Rick Ross and Eric Bellinger, Coming of Age showcases Sammie's undeniable growth, maturity, and progression. The album's first single "Bad Gal" premiered on Vibe, who called the tropical track "welcoming and wine worthy."
About the album, Sammie said…
"Coming Of Age was inspired by every woman I've ever been in love with. My mother told me every relationship, fling and one-night stand even, will have an effect on the man I ultimately become. Through trial and error I've learned many lessons, which sculpted me into the man I am today. I wanted to be raw, uncut, unfiltered and honest about the ups and downs in my love life. COA is me; sharing all of me." -Sammie
At just 12 years old, Sammie's debut single "I Like It" propelled him into superstardom. The single was included on his 2000 debut album From The Bottom To the Top and peaked in the Top 10 on the Billboard R&B Chart. His second studio album Sammie included the hit singles "You Should Be My Girl" featuring Sean Paul of YoungBloodz, and "Come With Me." Along the way, Sammie was featured on Soulja Boy's Billboard Top 5 single "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" and co-wrote r&b veteran Tank's "Next Breath." In 2016, Sammie released the 6-track EP, I'm Him, after a snippet of the title track went viral garnering over 2 million streams on Spotify.
Now, Coming Of Age sees Sammie confidently evolve into the artist he has worked toward becoming over the last 18 years. Next month, he joins Tank on The Savage Tour. Check out the full itinerary below.
