Having made waves in the Toronto dance and hip hop communities and fresh off of a recent Asia tour, Internet Daughter is back with ‘Audemars’. The beat is dripping with attitude that will make you vie for an Audemars of your own. Over the past few years, Internet Daughter has defined herself as a standout, but for this EP she says she veered away a little bit from her usual sound, inspired by the likes of Brodinski and Nick Hook:
“I wanted to venture into that more left of centre realm of beats, so I decided to forego my usual 808 subs and serum synths and play with some different sounds”
The track is a collaborative effort with rappers Rakeem Miles and Blxck Ixn. After meeting Baltimore native Rakeem Miles via Twitter and Toronto rapper Blxck Ixn upon moving to the city years ago, she felt that working together was bound to happen. The result is a grimy, bouncy banger, melding Internet Daughter’s unique brand of trap with two distinct yet cohesive flows that will no doubt be gracing Toronto decks and beyond very soon.
‘Audemars’ is part of Internet Daughter’s upcoming ‘Deleted Tweets’ EP. The four-song collection is out September 29 on Bedroomer.
