Arms and Sleepers otherwise known as Max Lewis and Mirza Ramic are extremely prolific; responsible for copious albums since their formation in 2006. However, the band have taken a more socially-conscious and egalitarian turn from their previous output with their latest full-length Life is Everywhere. The album, which surfaced earlier in August and also features limited physical runs of cassettes, vinyls, and CDs on their bandcamp, is full of subdued, playful lo-fi and characteristically glitchy sampling. Reflected perfectly in their dream-like Victor Ferreira (Sun Glitters) directed video above (which EARMILK is premiering today); the visuals show the ever evolving trippy graphics in "YOU MAY VISIT THE COSMOS" juxtaposing ambitious space exploration with troubles seen on the streets of Chicago’s South Side. Life is Everywhere highlights the necessity of compassion and kindness in this lonely and uncertain digital age, affirming the true purpose of art in our world.
"Maybe we do cherish those incredible human achievements in outer space and other areas of technology, but maybe we also need to do better—much better—with those most elementary of human struggles still grappling the majority of Earth’s population." – Mirza
