One of the best qualities of Claude VonStroke and his California based DIRTYBIRD imprint, besides its forward-thinking genre redefining sound over the years, is its ability to find new upcoming artists to support, and for their upcoming Summer Funk compilation, out this Friday August 18th, DIRTYBIRD is doing just that with “Lost My Mind” by Ireland’s own Bump Ugly, his very first solo release.

“Lost My Mind” showcases DIRTYBIRD’s well known weirder, almost acid like side reminiscent of the label’s older releases. Bump Ugly sets the tone with a bouncy beat and a crisp percussion before dropping into an undeniable groove that keeps the track moving throughout. Giving the tracks its irrefutable flare is Bump Ugly’s uses of computer “bloops” and well-placed high-pitched wave lines on the periphery, filling out the track nicely.
