Billy Davis dazzle with their Denzel Curry assisted 'Goldfish' single

Billy Davis is the brain-child of session musician William Rimington and it's made up of about 9 plus members (refer to their facebook for more info). With William in charge, the band released their debut project 'Bad Ending' which afforded them some local notoriety (in a good way) but now the world is their stage as they embark on their sophomore LP 'A Family Portrait'.

The third single from the aforementioned album is the ultra funky joint titled "Goldfish" and they also brought in an unusual suspect who goes by the name Denzel Curry for the ride. To be honest, this is a far cry from what I have heard from him but it's so refreshing, different but still in pocket. Billy Davis, on the other hand, brought that alternative space funk sprinkled with some hip-hop elements amongst other things to match.

Billy Davis is a musical juggernaut which features up to 11 members when playing live, pieced together by the multi-talented band leader and chief-songwriter William Rimington. Their style mirrors luminaries like Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak and the Internet, with their upbeat jams appearing as a breath of fresh air on the Australian music scene.

A sought-after session musician in his own right, Rimington has spent the last couple of years immersing himself into the fruitful local neo-soul & hip-hop scene, before joining forces with influential collective the Operatives. Quickly assembling the Billy Davis project, the group's first album Bad Ending was released independently earlier this year to a burst of fanfare. Now, the band is readying themselves to step into the spotlight with exciting new material quickly appearing on the horizon. Their new album 'A Family Portrait' will be released Friday 1 September on Good Manners Records. Preorders available HERE
