The Folk-rooted singer/songwriter Noah Gundersen has traded in his traditional acoustic crooning for something a little louder and edgier on his new single “ The Sound” from his upcoming album White Noise. Today, EARMILK has the pleasure of premiering the accompanying visuals for that single in a cinematic music video that explores the depths of human emotions and modern life. Check it out below.

"I always aspire to create work that evokes a specific feeling. Working on this project with Noah was a true collaboration and exercise in creating a unique mood. From creating colorful glitchy static to play on analog televisions to figuring out what type of opaque liquid to use to fill up a tub (milk with strawberry syrup), the imagery we wanted to create came with some specific challenges. In the end, we made a surreal piece that captures the energy and mood of The Sound." Quote from Director Christopher Harrell
The video is a departure from Gundersen’s previous offerings, but then again, so is the music. The video sets a feeling of un-ease and anxiety amidst a smoke filled house full of people. The audience definitely feels the emotion of this galvanic rock sound that Gundersen is conveying here, even if they don’t understand it. Maybe that is the point. A person doesn't have to understand their emotions, but that doesn’t stop them from happening. So let go of preconceived notions and get ready to rock out Gundersen's latest project.
