Following the release of their 2016 EP Clear the Clouds, the Irvine, CA duo Starfari are back this summer with the release of a new 3-track EP Total Solar. Today, EARMILK is excited to premiere the first track from that EP titled "Take Control" featuring James Taugher. Check it out below.

Starfari members Alex Scarlett and Ali Jafari are back and brought some serious all-encompassing drum builds for this one to really get the hearts pumping. The duo performs various live instruments at certain times during their shows and this track contains plenty of drum play that fans should be excited for. A masterful curation of various synths and emotive vocals from James Taugher and everytime this song hits that chorus, Starfari ignites a powerful feeling of inspiration from within as you dance along to their track. When asked what sparked this collaboration with Taugher, they shared;
"Our first show in August 2016 was a birthday party for our friend Niko Brahman, where we both debuted the live aspects of our music projects. James was also billed on the show, and that's where we formally met. After watching each other perform, we instantly knew a collaboration was imminent. We sent him our beat reel. He picked this beat. Two days later he sent his first draft of the top line. And it was done. Boom. Boom. Boom. It happened that quick. We finalized it in the coming months and knew we wanted to lead with it as our single. Taking control of your life when it seems hopeless is a message we want spread as far and wide as possible." The duo has been working on this upcoming EP since November of last year and have stated that "It's dedicated to the transcontinental eclipse happening in the U.S. in August. Like a total solar eclipse, the EP will showcase a darker side of our music, with flares of light, warmth, love, and hope bursting through its seams." They will be releasing each track seperately, so keep an eye out for the next one as this rising new duo are sure to not disappoint.
