Yesterday, South-London's Childhood shared “Cameo,” the follow up from the equally silky, light and soulful "Californian Light." "Cameo" is mellow, and an obvious summer jam from the band's upcoming Universal High album out July 21st on Marathon Artists. You can almost feel the smoothness of the track cooling you down on a hot day. With production from Ben H Allan III (Gnarls Barkley, Deerhunter, Animal Collective), who helped to hone in on the promise that the singer-songwriter-wunderkind and band leader Ben Romans-Hopcraft has shown on past releases. The track is reminiscent of great 70s soul music from artists like Curtis Mayfield and hints at psychedelia from contemporaries like Connan Mockasin. Universal High is absolutely an album to pre-order.
