Without a doubt, the best part of writing for a blog is finding the diamond in the rough artists who are just getting their start. Artists like Aris P from Chicago have a tiny following and are often found via a repost from a repost or featured on a random track. But that search is what makes finding these artists so much more meaningful, as they are often so talented.
On his latest track, “The Perfect Gentleman,” Aris proves he is an artist to watch. It’s no secret that Chicago is a huge source of talent in the Hip Hop world, but don’t let the big names distract you, the Chicago underground is popping off too.
Produced by Mr. Carmack, “The Perfect Gentleman” is a smooth as hell cut that finds Aris flowing like an aqueduct and proving his worth. “Only channel the real, so the fake can forget it. You can give me a hand, but keep it if it’s prosthetic. I’m trying to be in demand, hope the boy don’t regret it” he spits near the opening. It’s lines like these that show Aris is a talented rhymer. Instead of simply rhyming the last word in each bar, he doubles up, introing the segment with “forget it” and then rhyming “hand” with “demand” and “prosthetic” with “regret it.”
It’s always nice to see an artist dive deeper into the craft, especially when many of today’s top emcees seem to only rhyme the same handful of phrases.
Aris doesn’t have any new projects on the radar at the moment and dropped “The Perfect Gentleman” as a way to tide fans over for the time being. Until he releases details about a future project or track, press play on “The Perfect Gentleman” above and be sure to stay locked on EARMILK for more.
