As Mugatu would say, Whethan is just "so hot right now."
As his Flux Pavilion collaboration "Savage" sits on the precipice of a staggering 25 million streams on Spotify, today he keeps his foot on the gas with the bubbly indie pop jam "Good Nights," the latest in what has been a barrage of hits for the Chicago-born electronic wunderkind. In the past year, Whethan has released genre-bending official remixes for ZAYN, Louis The Child, and Opia, all of which eclipsed 2 million Soundcloud plays with the latter surpassing 4 million. Along with the track, he announced a colossal 40+ date North American tour that includes landmark appearances at Life Is Beautiful Festival and Red Rocks, among others. Did I mention he's only 18?
With bouncy chord plucks and hypnotic arpeggios under an entrancing vocal from Mascolo, "Good Nights" is nothing short of spectacular. Much like The Chainsmokers, who he recently joined on tour, Whethan has clearly discovered the formula for success, and it should not come as a surprise if he mimics their path to mainstream superstardom. From his recent breakthrough single "Love Gang" with Atlantic Records counterpart Charli XCX to his ballyhooed studio session with Skrillex, he is doing everything right.
