Representing the innovative wave of R&B (PBR&B, future R&B? Who knows what people call it these days), is artist Leng Hock hailing from Australia. The producer/singer/song-writer powerhouse is a breath of fresh air in the scene and has implemented a solid aesthetic visually and sonically. His artwork boasts saturated neons in an urban fashion, depicting Leng Hock's strong creative vision. But when it comes down to it, what stands out in Leng Hock's craft the most, is his emotional honesty in his beats and lyricism. Peering through the steamy haze in his work is a vulnerability, marking Leng Hock aside as an artist in the rawest form.

It's been a few months since the artist's last release "Discreet", but Leng Hock has returned with new material and stories to tell. Today EARMILK reveals his follow-up to "Discreet", in the sultry yet somber track "All the Way", paired with an exciting visual. The track's melancholic beat holds a retro grit and warmth found in the vocals. Leng Hock's emotionally doused voice speak to the artist's real life story, about the struggles of a long-distance relationship and the effort it takes to keep it alive. Regarding the words in the track, Hock states "“We knew that we were meant for each other and we communicated this to each other regularly. I feel like she’s my one true soul mate and I always said I would marry her and have kids with her one day. We did long distance for nine months until it all fell apart. The distance was too much, but deeper down than the surface she could feel something was wrong; that I wasn’t really in the relationship anymore. She couldn’t make it on a trip we planned together to reconnect in Hong Kong because of personal struggles, financial and emotional. This caused me to be distant when I should have been there for her. And it’s one of my biggest regrets.

This song is filled with sentiment and personal details; this song is really for her. It tells the story of how I’m currently back in America to try and get her back in my life for good. I’m on a mission to make sure that the one I’m supposed to be with doesn’t get away,”.

The music video pairing is a direct reflection of Leng Hock's emotional turmoil through a media collage of influences and inspiration. The visual borrows poignant scenes from his favourite animes Inu x Boku SS, Terror in Resonance and the film "Fallen Angels" but additionally includes real life footage. A strong sense of nostalgia and reminiscence is found in the footage and further continues Leng Hock's plans to grasp at the chance at the one who almost got away.

“When I landed in LAX I got detained at the airport and almost got sent back home. I was so close to not making it here. This video not only depicts the very personal romance between us, but the struggle of fighting the elements to get back to her. It’s an action, adventure, and romance themed music video." – Leng Hock

an ideal day consists of wandering a korean supermarket for cutely packaged snacks, stumbling upon instagram worthy neon signage, concluded with me drowning in several down blankets & obsessively sifting soundcloud to find a track that suitably fits my mood.
