In his quest to bring some pizzazz to the R&B scene while staying true to its roots, LA-based artist Nsolo just dropped his most polished track to date.

In perhaps a subtle nod to the silent ‘N’ in his name, Nsolo’s “Hush” is a velvety R&B ballad that chugs along with dark, languid production reminiscent of xxyyxx and stwo. While his work on the boards is admirable, it is his vocal effort that really shines through with a raw, nostalgia-evoking undercurrent. When asked about what specifically draws him to R&B, Nsolo had this to say:
“I’m really drawn into the vulnerability and smooth, ethereal sounds that modern R&B can grant, and my wish is to be able to contribute to that. The first CD I ever owned was Usher’s “Confessions,” which I think is still a huge influence on me today.”
Any 90’s kid who rollerbladed around their cul-de-sac listening to HitClips before eating 50 Otter Pops has to appreciate Usher’s Confessions. Whether you’re one of those kids or not, check out “Hush” now and look out for Nsolo this summer as he looks to build momentum in what is sure to be a bright career in R&B music.
