New to the indie scene and defined by a dreamy, energetic sound is the power-pop band Strange Hellos. The Norwegian quartet are gearing up for their new album, set to drop later this fall, with the release of their single “Monumental” – and monumental it is. The song is best described in a single word: fun. After the first listen, I felt happy. The big, catchy synth lead sets the tone, which is reinforced by a playful melody that dances around the dirty guitars. “Monumental” at its heart is fun and energetic, a massive ode to new love.
Strange Hellos are set to make appearances at the Trondheim Calling (February 2) and by:Larm (March 3) festivals this year.
