Icarus has had a big week. They've launched two new singles in 2017, both remixes but of two entirely different tracks. The first, of Martin Solveig's "Places" with Ina Wroldsen, came out on Friday via KOPG with help from Virgin EMI. The second, a remix of Arle's "Close To You," got a special and coveted nod from Danny Howard as his BBC Radio 1 "Hottest Record in the World." The track received the honor as it was released via Subsoul, ahead of its inclusion on SubSoul & Friends Vol. 2 and release as a solo single.
Remixing can sometimes be viewed as a consolation prize, an "I'll do it if I have to" project. But Icarus takes special care of their "Icarus Edits," making them a loveable and apart of their brand at its core. Their remixes are consistent, less experiment and more passion project. And these two are no exception.
