While hip hop releases are flying high in the last week of 2016 with surprise drops from the likes of Run the Jewels and Chance the Rapper, the house music world feels like it's truly gone on holiday. Well, UK underground proponent Doorly has set us straight from that notion, with a release that's memorable, even outside of this time of year."Tonga Peak Times" delivers exactly what it says, in its "Rub for the Club" form with quirky vocal sampling and bassline, as well as in its retro and downtempo look from Nadastrom. As an added bonus, the EP includes those trippy vocals as a DJ Tool a capella as well. Out via Reptile Dysfunction, Tonga Peak Times (Confuse Dem) is streaming now.
