'Twas the Friday before Christmas and all through the house there was nothing on rotation but Elixir, the new EP from Aaron Rose.
Cringeworthy Grinch flips aside, Mr. Rose, a member of the acclaimed Pro Era camp, has the Richter needles flying off the hinges with his latest project. Elixir — a seven-track EP mostly produced by J57, with additional cuts from Latrell James and The Audible Doctor — is a seamlessly arranged platter of tenacious rhymes and top-tier storytelling chops. As for the rationale behind the EP's title, Aaron Rose sums it up best:
"The elixir is the essence of being able to control your future with elements of both the past and present. I live through my music only to progress towards a better day.”
Every joint on Elixir showcases Rose's breathless flow and seemingly never-ending onslaught of intricate wordplay and multisyllabic rhymes. My favorite spin from the EP is "Parkside Ave," a retrospective ditty detailing how things operate in Rose's old stomping grounds.
Elixir is now available via Coalmine Records through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms, and can be purchased on CD through Fat Beats and UGHH. Aaron Rose will also be slangin' some limited edition purple/pink vinyl copies of his EP shortly after the new year!
