It might be a holiday week here in the US as we gear up for Thanksgiving on Thursday, but that certainly isn't stopping us from getting our hands on some of the best music coming out this week. Though they're probably not celebrating the American turkey-centric holiday, artists Ray Foxx & Dephlex have teamed up on a gem of a house track that's out Friday, November 25th via house music standard Get Twisted Records.
You might know Ray Foxx from his work on "The Trumpeter," his breakout single in 2011 that launched his name into the vernaculars of fellow UK tastemakers like Annie Mac. Since then, the Londoner has been making house music that speaks to where he's from – jackin, underground house music with impressive catchiness – and launching his label Foxx Head Music earlier this year. He's teamed up with newcomer Dephlex on a record that speaks to just that, the aptly titled "Jacked Up."
"Jacked Up" has simplicity to it, with retro elements and funky basslines. Once their chosen vocal samples are thrown into the mix, the single will stick with you before you realize its irresistible quality.
