LA-based duo RKCB have been gaining quick attention ever since putting out singles like "Open Arms", "Elevated", and collaborating with some popping hot young producers like Steve James and k?d earlier this year. They're doing pretty well for themselves, to say the least, and have most recently toured with Gallant if that's an indicator of anything.
Today, RKCB is finally releasing some new music, this time teaming up with the similarly mad talented group Opia. For listeners who aren't familiar with Opia, take a listen to this track and also this track here— the music speaks for itself but basically Opia made their debut in January and to say their music is attention-getting is being pretty modest.
On collaborative new single, "Always", RKCB and Opia blend their husky R&B vocals together to create a track so deliciously cyclical in nature that listeners will want to melt into the ground. The styles of both duos blend naturally together, with the more chill nature of RKCB's sound combining with the slightly edgier characteristics that make up Opia. The production surges in exciting thrums, with thumping bass intermingling with a bottom guitar melody that slyly sneaks itself in and around vocals earnest in their ardor.

"Always" is dynamically engaging in its smooth progression, lyrics are unstoppably catchy, and it's without a doubt one of the most fiery, invigorating tracks of the soulful sort that have come out all month. It's a sexistential tune to make out to.
