Originally a film composer & orchestrator, Cadence Kid (aka Jason Turbin) directs his masterful multi-instrumental and songwriting skills to summon up a dark electro-pop tune filled with inescapable ominious carnival-like tones. In this latest single, "The Darkness", Kid explores murkier complex sounds filled with various electronics, keyboards, and vocals. It's deceptively exotic as it is dark and paints a picture of a gentle breeze blowing through a leafless tree. Gravely pleasant vocals shine through an ambient haze of looming synths and the end result is a melodic dark pop track that exhibits the infinite complexities of Kid's sonic range.
