DJ Godfather gets "Freaky" for new EP [Premiere]

Ever since releasing his first solo album at 18, Detroit’s own DJ Godfather—known for his rumbling bass lines and NSFW vocal samples —is no stranger to booty bouncing house music. After teaming up with Matthew Anthony’s LA imprint Perfect Driver Music, for his Loud Mouth EP this July, DJ Godfather is back today on the label with his two-track EP, Freaky.

[soundcloud url="https://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/284329380" params="auto_play=false&hide_related=false&show_comments=true&show_user=true&show_reposts=false&visual=true" width="100%" height="450" iframe="true" /]

Producers have long used samples or cuts from Chicago’s own DJ Deeon’s tracks, like Bjorki sampled from “2 B Free” for his “I Wanna Go Bang,” so it’s no wonder that DJ Godfather has gone all the way back to 2005 to revive DJ Deeon’s vocals from “Freaky, Freaky” for the title track of the EP. DJ Godfather sets the tone with a strong beat and some ever forward commanding percussion as the NSFW, not safe for children lyrics lead the track into a rolling bass line that sits ever so nicely. DJ Godfather cuts up the track with some well placed biting synths that never seem to take away from the underlying groove.

This is definitely one track and EP that should not be missed. Pick up your copy from Perfect Driver Music today.
