It isn’t often that two artists can meld their sounds together without sacrificing their own unique styles, but that’s exactly what Brooklyn-based techno artists Klienfeld and KRAMES have done with their first collaboration Momentary Disruptions, out now on Todd Terry’s new techno imprint Terminator. The striking four-track EP features vocals from KRAMES himself and its techno is as unrelenting as it is punishing, elating techno aficionados with the fact that this partnership will continue on in future collaborations.

The opening track “Disruptor” sets the juxtaposed tone of the EP between science and soul asking listeners to “Look into your mind. Stare into your soul,” as militaristic percussion accents pointed synth jabs. “Disruptions” transitions into a proper techno track with an emotive vocal rift soaring above as a powerful bass line powers through below before the track eventually opens up a to a tinge of acid. The third track is Housemeister’s Medley of “Disruptor,” which uses the same vocal sample of the original accompanied by a rolling, stabbing percussion and acid synths. The original “Disruptor” closes out the EP with a pounding bassline and an inherently dark undertone.
All together, the EP is a fantastic first collaboration of dark, unrelenting techno that cannot be missed. Pick up your copy at iTunes today.
