Ambient tracks are easily overlooked by even the most well-versed electronic fans, but there are strong complexities found in the blissful blur of it all. Long time electronic duo The Orb, made up of Alex Paterson and Thomas Fehlmann, had unveiled their album Moonbuilding 2703 AD, just last year. The production duo is best known for their psychedelic sounds that dabble in ambient house. The pair has just recently unleashed "5th Dimensions" off their upcoming album COW / Chill Out, World. The Orb is citing the album as their "most ambient album yet" and announced the release date for October 14th.
"5th Dimensions" is a sonic journey that unravels deep layers throughout the track. Drifting through the intricacies of time and space, The Orb craft a poignant state of serenity in the work. From subtle sounds inspired from nature to the slight imperfections of static, the track resonates somewhere deep within. Describing the record as an "protest album in reverse", the relaxed nature of the work creates an organic atmosphere where a blissful state of mind can thrive.
