Los Angeles' Andrew Belle is today premiering his brand new single "Dive Deep" with EARMILK after almost three years of silence.
The track is Belle's first offering ever since 2013's Black Bear, so it's safe to say he's kept us waiting. In anticipation of the release of his third full-length record, "Dive Deep" acts not only as our first taste of said LP, but also Belle's newly formed, LA-inspired sonic territory that's both vibrant and moody.
Produced by Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, Broncho), "Dive Deep" also can be thought of as a prominent window into Belle's introspective thoughts, inviting listeners to understand him as a songwriter "more intimately through his experience in heartbreak," notes a press release. Belle continues:
"I wrote 'Dive Deep' while thinking about the moment when we let our guard down and invite another person to know us on a deeper, more meaningful level. On the surface I wrote it from a romantic perspective but I also meant for it to encapsulate the broader theme of this new album. I almost never write something that isn't true to my own life experiences because few things resonate with or excite me as much as when I'm being brutally honest in my music. The hope is that my listeners will know a little more of me and my story through this new song and forthcoming album. Being vulnerable with another person is a difficult, uncomfortable process to work through but over the years I've found that there is almost nothing quite as fulfilling as when you're able to say to someone, 'Here I am. This is my heart – Dive Deep'"
