It's been a couple of months since we last heard from Farma Wes. Keeping right in line with fellow 7geti crew member, Kevin Sinatra, he releases "SNL", a song as fit for the summer as a Michael Bay film. Along with "Rosegold Nightmare" and "93 GT", this will be the third single to come from his upcoming project Pla†inum.
From his reverberated vocals as he sings "Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey!", to the annoyingly distinguishable pulsating two note melody, this track feels so 2008. More specifically, 808's and Heartbreak 2008. Maybe that's what producer and frequent collaborator Bodi was going for, and that's fine because what part of rap, or pop for that
matter, doesn't take from Ye's very strong musical genome these days? However, in this writers humble opinion, this is not the most exciting stuff that we've heard from the normally audacious emcee. The incessant hook permeates that part of your mind that makes you repeat it in the same way that Rihanna's "Work" did, except this is not even half as interesting. While the singles previously released clearly bang through and through, this latest release kind of leaves me prayerful that Farma's Pla†inum project won't be as boring.
