Watch the video for Darkstar and Empress Of's "Reformer"

Moody British electronic duo Darkstar recently announced a new EP, Made to Measure.  The first single, "Reformer," features the vocals of Lorely Rodriguez, better known as Empress Of.  Darkstar has done plenty of vocal tracks in the past, but the addition of Rodriguez's powerful voice and pop-leaning tendencies is a bit of a new look.  In the brand new "Reformer" video, Rodriguez strolls the beach at sundown, singing the words like they're some kind of cathartic breaking point. Like the song, the scene is a bit dark and suspenseful, but altogether quite beautiful.  The Made to Measure EP is out July 15 on Warp, and will also feature an appearance from GAIKA.

I received my degree in English from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and Virginia is still home. Apart from my yearly pilgrimage to Moogfest and occasional shows in DC, Detroit, and New York, I like to stick to the fringes, with an eye always open toward music that is forward-thinking and unique, whatever the genre.
