In November 2015, we caught wind of a new cover of Shaggy's early 2000's hit "It Wasn't Me," that totally gave us a new persepctive on the song (really, it just gave it some depth and new personality). This was all thanks to Brika, a singer-songwriter who just dropped an equally, if not more thrilling original track entitled "You."
Produced by Julio Reyes Copello, "You" follows Brika's 2015 project Voice Memos which saw huge viral notoriety, with elements of the release gaining millions of plays online. A sultry execution of funk, jazz, R&B, Brika's voice ebbs and flows between an alluring falsetto and a powerful belt stricken with heart.
