Is 2016 the year of George Maple? In April, the Aussie released her new single "Sticks and Horses" featuring rapper GoldLink. Produced by What So Not, Noah Breakfast, and WILLS, the original version of the song featured Maple's seductive vocals layered on a thick, bass-heavy R&B inspired production that has become somewhat synonymous with that part of the world. More recently, she was the featured vocalist on DJ Snake's newest single, "Talk." Now, not even two months old, Maple's track is already getting the remix makeover courtesy. The diversity of sounds in this remix collection is impressive enough. With Deetron, we get a acid-house influenced throwback that would have sounded perfectly normal at a 90s rave. With Daktyl, we get a fairly traditional trap remix. But my money is on Maple's own remix. It presents an interesting "B-Side" version of the original song; while the original was more of a bass heavy club knocker, her remix takes things decidedly more melodic direction. Definitely check it out, and check out the other remixes while you're at it.
