Gang Signs is the Vancouver-based synth filled, new wave masterpiece project derived from the sonic mastermind of Peter Ricq (half of electronic duo HUMANS). For this project, Ricq is joined by Mate Sarenac (vocals/keyboards) and Adam Fink (drums) and together the trio orchestrate a symphony of minimal analog sounds, rich seductive vocals, heartbroken guitar riffs and deep elemental drums. The end result is an emotion-provoking sound filled with dark shadows and ominous melodic tones. To compliment their latest work, the group released an EP full of various remixes to add a fun spin containing added elements of new ambient sounds, heavy bass, dark techno and deep house. It's a great way to get lost in deep thought while getting hit with an unexpected melodic beat to keep your body moving. Check it out below:
"Usually, you don't get great remixes but with this, I think having girl and guy vocals and live drums really made it approachable. All the drum hits were recorded separately so we could eq everything and it made the sound perfect in the mix." Peter Ricq
