It's been a while sincLA-baseded indie-rock group Local Natives has released any new music, too long actually. Their sophomore album Hummingbird was released in 2013, and while good, nay, great — was a bit on the melancholic side. Their debut album Gorilla Manor had heavy hitting indie tunes like "Sun Hands" and "Who Knows Who Cares," that boasted choruses and massive melodies that rattled you at your core. After nearly three years of silence, the band quitely updated their cover photo and announced a secret show in San Francisco, yesterday.

Then, today, while everyone was geeking over Views, Local Natives reared their heads and dropped, "Past Lives." From the beginning, swelling horns usher you in as the vocals flutter. It's an anthemic processional that grabs you from the beginning before crashing into a massive chorus that makes the hair on your arms stand up. When their new album is due is unknown, but if the rest of the songs sounds anything like this, we can expect another massive release from this immaculate group.
