Having garnered quite a bit of attention with his YouTube based production tutorial series, "You Suck at Producing," Santa Barbara-based DJ and producer Underbelly is now set to unleash his new hotness on the electronic scene. 'Ripple' is a three track EP that heavily borrows from hip-hop and trip-hop to produce some melodic and very chilled-out grooves. And luckily for you, we have the premiere of the EP available for your listening pleasure.
On tracks like "Stingray," his skill with chord progression is readily apparent, as it contains nice, glittering piano chords punctuated by a hip-hop influenced percussion. The songs all also make great use of vocal samples that compliment, not overwhelm, the previously established tone and theme. Very good stuff and worth checking out, so take a listen for yourself below! And if you're still curious, check out the links below.
