It's fun seeing past articles and musicians come together after years of hard work, and today I have a track that is the definition of this concept. My good buddy Rambo V decided to take on DiRTY RADiO's "Your Lips". The original was by Pat Lok, which means this is a very special trifecta of musical talent.
Everything Rambo puts together with his LA posse of artists, enthusiasts and musicians is a real group effort. With artwork by Wake Up Mr. Singh, and a hodgepodge of musical input, "Your Lips" has turned from a standard original to a molded sculpture with an assortment of crafty hands. Rambo's rendition is light and fast, and doesn't waste time with a heavy intro. I'm starting to see his signature sound come out with every release, from his remix of Jamie xx to back when he redid Outkast's "Roses".
On the other hand, I've started to see more and more of DiRTY RADiO's vocals on an ensemble of tracks. This style of music is truly beginning to pop the EDM bubble we've had for the past few years, with authentic production and soulful lyrics prevailing into what I hope is there limelight.
