Lee Walker’s well-received remake of “Freak Like Me” is set for release on Defected Records next month. The Dance Mania classic, first released back in 1996 has ignited dance floors worldwide. Though the original by DJ Deeon is still played today, the remix from Lee Walker gives the track a 21st-century upgrade. Given the instantly recognisable vocal line and bass juggernaut remixing, it's bound to become a fixture in sets all summer.
Following the bootleg version receiving love all over clubland, an official release has been widely anticipated, encapsulating the true spirit of the underground. It's already a fixture in Marco Carola's sets since last summer, almost blew the roof off Amnesia in Ibiza, and received major support from Loco Dice and Disclosure.
Plus, it's just received the stamp of approval from two of the most influential radio DJs in the UK, named Annie Mac's Hottest Record In the World and Pete Tong's Essential New Tune.
Once the "DJ Deeon vs Lee Walker Remix" is digitally released on March 7th, it will be given an even further lease of life, leaving no sound system left unturned.
