At only 20 years old, Winnipeg based producer Vincent is on the rise as the next big thing. With mix features on NEST HQ and Too Future, it's best to take note of the avante-garde electronic producer, who shares his name as part of the distinguished AM Only roster. Formerly producing under the moniker XVII, Vincent is well known for his hard anthemic trap tracks, boasting gritty synths and dirty bass lines. The producer has garnered staggering support from the likes of RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Flosstradamus and more, with features of his bangers implemented into their sets. The producer recently played his first headlining show in Vancouver, foreshadowing the impending success of the artist. If there's a time to be watching Vincent and the material he produces, it's now.
In Vincent's latest "Her", chills flow through the body with idyllic piano riffs that flutter throughout the entirety of the haunting song. The complex layering of melodies, angelic vocal loops and strong percussions create a dreamscape and evoke a feeling difficult to grasp. Melancholic and bittersweet, the track faintly takes me to a modern day Edward Scissorhand's "Ice Dance". "Her" is a metaphoric vessel to the fleetingness of our emotions, with the delicate vocalise transitioning to sharp and tantalizing synths. It's not often you come across a track that speaks deeply to you emotionally, one that makes an indelible imprint on your heart upon first listening. Vincent's, "Her" does exactly that, creating an electronic epic that breathes an ethereal presence inside you, diving into the darkest corners of your mind to drive empathetic epiphanies.
